The firm represents a number of towns and several special use districts on a wide range of municipal issues, including taxation, employment, waste disposal and eminent domain. In this area of practice in particular, we serve as both counselors and advocates, rendering pro-active compliance advice, but also vigorously representing our clients in courts and before administrative bodies, including the Maine Board of Property Tax Review, the Public Utilities Commission, and the Maine Board of Environmental Protection. We have experience in zoning and land use matters, both in terms of advising Planning and Zoning Boards of Appeal in the Towns we represent, and appearing before similar boards on behalf of clients in towns we don't represent. Charlie Gilbert is a long-time member of the Maine Council of School Board Attorneys, and has represented school districts, administrators and teachers on a number of issues.
